Medcore Medical Group, originally known as Omni IPA Medical Group, has been in existence since 1985 and is the only local Physician Provider Network in San Joaquin County. In 1996 Medcore Medical Group branched out and initiated the development of Medcore Management, Inc., a wholly owned management company, to furnish the administrative and operational functions necessary to support Medcore Medical Group's/Omni IPA's capitation health plan agreements. Medcore Management, Inc.'s legal corporate name was changed in 1998 to Medcore HP, d.b.a. Medcore, which is how it is currently recognized and referred to by the public.
